Anna Meskhi: Kartvelian Linguoculturology of the Past

Kartvelian Linguoculturology of the Past is a collection of Anna Meskhi’s articles published between 1996 and 2017. They are devoted to the examination of Kartvelian linguistic and culturological contacts with both living and dead civilizations. The volume comprises 18 articles grouped into four parts: Kartvelian and English (12 articles), Kartvelian and Sumerian (2 articles), Kartvelian and Egyptian (2 articles), Kartvelian and Basque (1 article). Part one is further subdivided into smaller sections devoted to the problems of etymology, foreign language teaching methodology, language typology, and mythology. The other three subdivisions are solely dedicated to the decipherment of various language units through Kartvelian languages and culture. The last article in the volume focuses on the importance of translating certain scholarly works written in the Georgian language into foreign languages. Read more
